By using the leavening technique, you can make delicious breads all over the world. History of bread is very old such as olive and olive oil. It is thought that Natufians are the first bread cookers. It is told that after the invention of flour, bread was baked on the rocks. Let’s quickly come to the present day and start explaining our recipe.
Ingrediants are;
- 1 packet of fresh yeast
- 4-5 cups of flour (you can use any type of flour you want)
- 1 egg’s white
- 1 yolk of the egg
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup diced black olives
- v1 glass of warm water
- 1 glass of milk/yogurt
First, let’s do the leavening process. Let’s add our fresh yeast, warm water and sugar into a large glass bowl. Let’s mix our yeast until it melts and foams and wait for about 15-20 minutes.
Then add the egg’s white, flour (add it under control), extra virgin olive oil, milk/yogurt and salt on the yeast. When we get a dough that does not stick to the hand,cover it with a damp cloth and let it swell for about half an hour.
Then, let’s flour the area where we will do the kneading process. Transfer our swollen dough to the area. After kneading with our hands for a while, add the pitted olives to the dough and continue the kneading process for a while.
Let’s cut pieces of the size we want and give them round shapes. Line it up at a certain distance (thinking that it will swell) on the baking tray on which we have laid baking paper. Cover them with a damp cloth and let them rest for about 20 minutes. Brush the yolk of the egg that we have separated on the upper parts of the rested dough.
Let’s put our olive bread in the oven, which we preheated at 200 degrees. Set the oven to 180 degrees and wait for the bread with olives to bake for 25-30 minutes under control until the tops are browned and their smell spreads throughout the house. Good luck to you. Enjoy your meal.
